The light situation in Agbowo, which has become a second home for most UI students has hindered many from gaining from the online classes. The problem of light, lack of data and low connectivity is a major issue now faced by UI students living home and away.

During the course of a synchronous class, these problems are easily overlooked. If you get logged out of a class due to network issues, you can sign back in with no implications. This may not be so when it comes to virtual tests that have started in some departments.

There is usually a set time for tests. If you are logged out of the medium through which you are taking a test this might have serious implications on the outcome of the test. Getting logged out before you are properly signed out of the test might mean; you are done with the test and you will not be able to go back to finish, the medium automatically submits your progress even if you are yet to finish etc. These unfavourable implications can be avoided if one plans well.

Have a backup data source in case one happens to fail. Make provisions to have multiple ways to connect to the internet, this can be through, WIFI, mobile data or a hotspot. If you have to go to someplace where the network is good, move there before you start the test. Any disconnection during the test can leave one anxious and might deter you from going on even if you are allowed to reconnect and take the test.

Test your devices and make sure your source of connection to the internet is working properly at least thirty minutes before the test. This will help to notice problems earlier and it can be solved before you start a test.

As we write our tests let us do well to always be of good character and be polite to the lecturers. Everyone is trying hard to adapt to this mode of learning so changes might be made to plans that have already been made. Making an issue out of this will lead to nothing as you have to play by the lecturer’s rules to pass the course. Do not be a Dehinde, if you must air your grievances about an occurrence be polite about it. Queen Idia press wishes you luck on all your tests.
